- Air-driven (Power source)
- 130Hz (Fundamental frequency)
AT 150/165 air whistle, suitable for vessels with a LOA 75m till 200m.
Regulations Before and After COLREG 1972
Before “COLREG 1972” (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea), low-pitched tones were often used for smaller vessels. However, the principle of reserving low tones for large vessels was not strictly enforced. The IMO regulations now reserve very low tones exclusively for the largest ships. For middle-sized and smaller vessels, there are broader frequency options available.
AT 150/165
Signal Preferences and Frequency Range
IMO regulations prioritize signals that maintain audibility even at a distance. Vessels between 75 and 200 meters (246 – 656 feet) should use whistles with frequencies ranging between 130 and 350 Hz. These frequencies ensure effective communication and compliance with maritime safety standards.
Installation Instructions for AT 150/165
Mounting the AT 150/165
Secure the AT 150/165 whistle with four M10 bolts to an outrigger or similar construction. Ensure the structure is stable to prevent any operational issues.
Cleaning the Supply Pipe
Before connecting the supply pipe to the whistle, blow the pipe thoroughly clean. This step is crucial to avoid any functional troubles caused by debris or contaminants in the pipe.
Installing a Primary Filter
If the pipeline above deck exceeds 100 meters (328 feet), install a primary FILTER TP 15/2 at the base of the mast. This filter protects the whistle from water condensate and rust particles, ensuring reliable operation.
Maintaining the Filter
Regular maintenance is essential for optimal performance. Drain the filter approximately once a month to prevent blockages and maintain the integrity of the signaling system.
Valve Unit Specifications
The VALVE UNIT TV 784 is designed for efficient air flow, featuring thermostatic heating, exchangeable choke flanges, and filters. It includes two coils for normal and emergency operation, as well as a lanyard, providing reliable functionality (see separate leaflet KSM 264 for more details)

The Levelmaster presentation is a powerful presentation software for any kind of remote level gauging system. The program is flexible in presentation modes and give a clear overview of tank contents. The program operate in Windows operating system and can be installed in conventional computers as well as touch screens and panel PC.
Water Ingress Monitoring (WIM) according to SOLAS XII/12 rule. Kockumation supply measurement unit, alarm panels and installation material complete with all necessary fittings. No electrical components are located in the holds and only one sensing pipe will produce continuous monitoring with compliant alarms.
There is no other company in the world that can come close to the experience within Kockumation. The loading computer business started within Kockum Sonics back in 1990 with the program LoadRite. In the year 2001 Kockum Sonics acquired Loadmaster International and the program LOADMASTER® was added. In a couple of years the two programs were merged and we introduced the LOADMASTER® X5 on the market. The LOADMASTER® X5 became a great success and Kockum Sonics strengthened its position on the loading computer arena.
